Search older vehicles

The Fuel Consumption Guide Database provides comparative data on the fuel consumption of many vehicles sold in Australia between 1986 and 2003. The database includes passenger cars and four-wheel drives, and light commercial vehicles up to 2.7 tonnes gross vehicle mass. A copy of this database can be downloaded in csv format.

Please note that fuel consumption data for vehicles sold from 1986 to 2003 vehicles is based on a different test to the Green Vehicle Guide (GVG) database and are not directly comparable with those listed in the GVG database. As with the GVG database, these figures are intended to provide a common basis to compare vehicles only. Your actual fuel consumption will depend on range of factors such as traffic conditions and how you use and maintain your vehicle.

To find data for a specific model:

1. In Microsoft Excel (2016), click on ‘Data’, then click on ‘Filters’. This will enable you to filter results by specific terms.

2. Click on the filter icons at the right of the column headings and select the relevant ‘Manufacturer’, ‘Model’ and ‘Year’ for the vehicle/s you are seeking data for.
